3VX section banded V-belts have a wedge, cogged design and are constructed of multiple V-belts fused together to create ribs in a V-belt with reinforced backing. Each banded V-belt has a top width that varies depending on the number of ribs, and a nominal thickness of 5/16" (actual dimensions may vary slightly). Wedge V-belts, identified with a "V," have a smaller top width and a deeper profile than classical V-belts. This design transfers higher power than classical V-belts of the same size.
