Pressure filter assemblies for hydraulic pressure lines are used to clean hydraulic oil or fluid in pressurized hydraulic systems. MERV 14 cartridge air filters capture 90% to 95% of particles between 3 and 10 microns in size (such as dusting aids and cement dust), 85% to 90% of particles between 1 and 3 microns in size (lead dust, humidifier dust, coal dust, and nebulizer droplets), and 50% to 75% of particles between 0.30 and 1 micron in size (most smoke, sneeze nuclei, insecticide dust, copier toner, and face powder). They capture contaminants more efficiently than MERV 13 cartridge air filters.

Breather caps for hydraulic tanks (sometimes called breather vents) allow air and moisture to exit the tank as the fluid level in the tank rises, helping to eliminate air bubbles and moisture that can affect system performance. They also filter ambient air that is pulled into the tank as fluid levels in the tank fall to prevent airborne contaminants from entering the system. These breathers are not suitable for filling tanks.
