Perbedaan utama terletak pada motor duty cycle (siklus kerja motor) dan konstruksi. Motor komersial dirancang untuk penggunaan kontinu (terus-menerus) tanpa overheating. - Material dan Konstruksi:

Durabilitas jangka panjang ditentukan oleh material. Stainless steel Tipe 304 adalah standar industri karena ketahanan korosi superiornya. Tipe 430 (magnetis) kadang digunakan untuk panel eksterior non-kontak untuk menekan biaya.
