Plug-in portable GFCI cords with automatic reset are electrical devices used between a power source and an electrical device to detect ground faults and help prevent electrical shock. The GFCI automatically resets after a power interruption to immediately restart the connected devices as soon as the power supply is restored. They are often used to connect unattended devices with short power cords, such as radios or lights, to outlets without GFCI protection.
