The Loctite M2004 dispensing valve is operated by a pneumatically double-acting cylinder.
As the cylinder rises, adhesive supplied from the liquid tank is filled into a mechanically adjustable plunger.
The adhesive is dispensed by pushing down the plunger as the cylinder descends.
The amount dispensed is equal to the amount filled in the plunger, and by mechanically adjusting the stroke of the plunger, the amount dispensed becomes constant, making it less susceptible to temperature changes and allowing for a stable amount to be applied each time.
