Platinum Tip Features: Platinum Tip vs. Various Polypropylene Tips. The inner surface of the BMBio "Platinum Tip," a regular tip, and a siliconized tip were cut and photographed at 50°C (5,000x).
The BMBio "Platinum Tip" has an exceptionally smooth surface. That's the reason it's called platinum.
Even with other manufacturers' polypropylene chips (500x), there are clearly visible linear indentations, making it easier for samples to remain on them.
You can see the unevenness that cannot be covered by the silicone coating on the siliconized chips from other manufacturers. We can conclude that these are also likely to leave a good sample.

The graph on the right shows the results of a test using Thermo Fisher Scientific's "BigDyeTerminatorReadyReactionMix" as a test sample. After aspirating 100 μl of the sample into the tip, draining, washing, and rinsing, the remaining liquid in the tip was measured using a spectrophotometer. The results show that the BMBio "Platinum Tip" has significantly less residual liquid compared to the other companies' tips.
Furthermore, when sampling reagents containing high-concentration, viscous glycerol-containing enzymes, residual liquid is clearly visible when using a standard pipette tip (see below).
The loss of reagents during PCR and DNA sequencing can lead to flaws in research results and increase reagent costs.
