*It is possible to loosen it counterclockwise. Loosen in the counterclockwise direction within 30% of the tightening torque.
*There are many cases where over-torque causes the tip to crack or the screw to strip. The reason for this is that people tend to apply too much torque out of fear of loosening. Applying too much torque can not only strip the threads, but can also lead to the worst case scenario of having to replace the tool.
