Things to consider when choosing the right puller for the job. When choosing the right puller for the job, consider using a 3-legged puller.
This provides better load distribution and is much safer to use.
The spread of the bearing puller. This is determined by the width of the part you are pulling.
The reach of the bearing puller must be equal to or greater than the depth of the part being removed. The force of the bearing puller will require more force if removing rusted parts or if there is a large contact area on the surface.
Consider selecting a puller that holds a thread diameter at least half the size of the shaft of the object you are removing.
Still unsure which puller to choose? Simply use the next largest - because standard bearing pullers slow down the job and nobody has time for that.
