Description
This is a taper thread gauge used to inspect R (Rc, Rp) specified in JIS B 0203. There is also PT for tapered pipe threads, but the gauges for R and PT are different. It is used to inspect the fit of tapered male threads (pipes) and tapered female threads (pipe fittings) for the purpose of connecting pipes and pipe parts. The differences between R and PT are as follows. 1. Unlike PT thread gauges, R thread gauges cannot manage thread ring gauges with thread plug gauges. Inspection plugs (CP) are used to manage thread ring gauges. 2. A wear limit is specified for R thread gauges.
