When the coil acts as an electromagnet to attract the movable plate and release the brake, the holding power required after the attraction is small.
The Palgen system temporarily applies a large amount of power to ensure the brake release action, and then reduces power consumption when the brake is held, thereby suppressing heat generation in the brakes.
(To prevent accidents, the release power is applied approximately every 10 seconds.)
The Palgen-equipped brakes have reinforced springs, resulting in increased braking torque, but they cannot be used without the Palgen system.
Prevents movement of servo-system positioning, prevents self-weight-induced fall of vertically mounted ball nuts, and maintains robot position (when not powered).
