Zieta Kawat Las 99 Series

An excellent all position electrode specially developed for welding cast iron with the minimum heat input to provide machinable welds in fusion areas. The pure nickel core wire of ZIETA 99 assures low temperature with a minimum penetration to minimize metal dilution. No preheating or post heating are necessary. Arc drive is very strong and thereby penetrates all surface contaminants. Outstanding wetting and bonding on poor quality and oily castings. The deposit is free from porosity, has the highest resistance to cracking, and full machinable.

C=0.60, Mn=0.22, Si=0.70, Fe=0.8, Ni=remainder

APPLICATIONS:
The ultimate for machinable welds on cast iron, of gray-malleable and nodular types specially engine heads, blocks, housing, transmission and gears. Also build-up and joining iron to steel and copper alloys.

PROCEDURE
Prepare weld area by beveling and cleaning cracked edges to be joined. Use DC reverse polarity or AC with short to medium arc length. Use stringer bead or weaving technique. Peen to relieve stresses. For long cracks, use skip welding. Allow casting to cool slowly for best result.
