Zieta Kawat Las 316 Series

A lime titania stainless electrode designed for welding austenitic Cr/Ni corrosion resisting steels. Weld deposits contain 2–3% molybdenum aside from sufficient chromium and nickel, giving improved mechanical properties, extremely good weldability, high deposition rates, and slag removal is excellent. ZIETA 316 is the best recommended for all types of stainless steels where strong acids are encountered and where extreme corrosion problems exist, to resist the pitting types of corrosion.

C=0.032, Mn=1.70, Si=0.23, Ni=12.18, P=0.020, S=0.01, Cr=19.80, Mo=2.8

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Used for welding AISI 316 and 316L, underlying for surfacing mild steel, also used in welding of tanks and pipes exposed to non-oxidizing acids such as sulphuric acids and welding parts subjected to creep abrasion. Equipments used in chemical and food industries, petro chemicals & pharmaceuticals.

PROCEDURE
Use either AC or DC, reverse polarity. Preheating is not advisable except when welding alloy steels, operate at lowest possible ampere to minimize heat input. Maintain a short arc gap and skip welding is recommended to distribute heat evenly. Slag will peel off easily after each pass cools.
