Zieta Kawat Las 309Mo Series

An exceptionally tough all-position electrode with a coating designed especially to produce a soft smooth arc with minimum spatter performance, deposits are free from porosity and have high tensile, ductility and elongation with excellent corrosion and heat resistance. Very ideal as butter-passes and joining of stainless steel or clad steel.

C=0.007, M=0.79, Si=0.23, Ni=12.43, P=0.022, S=0.01, Cr=24.52

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Ideal for joining and build-up on shafts, cams, tool steels, high carbon and manganese steels. Best recommended also as buffer layer prior to hardfacing. Basically for 300 and 400 series stainless steels.

PROCEDURE
Use AC or DC, reverse polarity, clean area to be welded. Preheat high alloy and high carbon steel to that required by base metal. Generally, on applications such as low alloy shafts, a preheat of 44˚F–500˚F will suffice accompanied with a slow cool. Hold a short arc and run stringer beads. No preheat for stainless steels.
