This lens can refract light efficiently in a small space by making both sides convex, and collect a lot of light. It is used when you want to collect collimated light at the shortest possible distance or collect as much light as possible diverging from the light emitting point. This lens is made of BK7 for the visible to near infrared range. We offer three types of lenses with anti-reflection coating: visible, near infrared, and infrared. You can select the lens that suits your specifications from a wide variety of variations subdivided by outer diameter size and focal length. We also offer achromatic lenses (DLB) that are corrected for chromatic aberration. *Spherical biconvex lenses have chromatic aberration, and the focal length changes depending on the wavelength. *Biconvex lenses have larger spherical aberration than plano-convex lenses, and the light spot may not converge to one point. *Uncoated products have a transmittance of about 90% due to losses caused by reflections on the front and back surfaces of the lens.
