Cylindrical plano-concave lenses have the curvature of a concave lens in the vertical direction, but no curvature in the horizontal direction. They are used in combination with cylindrical plano-convex lenses to shape the elliptical beam of a semiconductor laser into a circular beam. These lenses are made of BK7 and are used in the visible to near-infrared range. We also offer three types of lenses with anti-reflection coating for the visible, near-infrared, and infrared ranges. By using cylindrical lenses in an optical system, you can change the beam shape and the aspect ratio of the illumination light. We offer cylindrical lens holders (CHA) to fix cylindrical lenses. *Cylindrical plano-concave lenses have chromatic aberration, and the focal length changes depending on the wavelength. *Cylindrical plano-concave lenses have a specific direction in which light can enter. *Always allow parallel light to enter from the concave side. *Doing it the other way around can increase spherical aberration and deteriorate the optical performance. *Uncoated products have a transmittance of about 90% due to losses caused by reflections on the front and back surfaces of the lens.
