This culture medium is a non-selective anaerobic bacterial isolation medium and exhibits excellent growth performance for anaerobic bacteria in general.
In particular, it allows for the differentiation of colonies of black pigment-producing Gram-negative bacilli, which are frequently detected in clinical specimens.
Brucella medium is used as the basal culture medium, with hemin, L-arginine, vitamin K, and rabbit hemolysis added as growth factors.
