The Cold Cathode Tough Gauge (CCTG) prevents electrode contamination, which was previously impossible to address, and achieves stable discharge in ultra-high vacuum regions by heating the cathode electrode. Furthermore, the use of ceramic material for the cathode provides unprecedented corrosion resistance. It can also measure pressure in halogen gas atmospheres, which was previously impossible.
