This multi-IMU board is a 6-axis IMU board consisting of a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope. Multi-IMU synthesis technology developed by Sony Corporation's Technology Development Laboratories achieves low bias fluctuation and low noise density sufficient to detect the Earth's rotation. By synthesizing 16 consumer MEMS IMUs in real time, this board achieves bias stability of 0.39 deg/h or less, comparable to industrial FOGs (Fiber Optic Gyroscopes), while also enabling significant weight reduction, compactness, and cost savings. This makes it suitable for applications requiring more precise control, such as structural inspection drones and small autonomous mobile robots, where it was previously difficult to incorporate industrial FOGs.
In addition, up to two of these boards can be stacked, allowing the output of up to 32 IMUs to be combined to further improve accuracy.
