This is a high-drive current I2C bus buffer featuring the NXP PCA9600D, a bus buffer capable of extending the I2C bus. It can also be isolated by combining it with a photocoupler. The PCA9600D maintains a constant threshold voltage for the SX/SY terminals regardless of the power supply voltage. This means that even when the IC is powered by 12V, the buffer can be driven at normal logic levels. The TX/TY terminals have a drive capacity of 60mA (min), allowing them to directly drive LEDs and other devices, making it easy to build isolated circuits using photocouplers. The SX/SY terminal threshold voltage is constant, independent of the power supply voltage. It can operate at 1MHz (on a 20m transmission line) and can transmit and receive bidirectional I2C bus signals separately.
