Adafruit IR Remote Transceiver Board

This is an infrared transceiver breakout board capable of transmitting and receiving 940nm remote control data in a single package. Infrared transmission is possible over a wide range of 10m or more. For transmission, a high-power IR LED emitter with an N-channel FET driver pulses 100mA to 200mA of current through two LEDs. One LED is vertical and the other horizontal, providing wide coverage. Each LED draws approximately 200mA at 5V and approximately 100mA at 3V. It includes a yellow LED that flashes when the IR LED is on. For reception, it uses an IR sensor designed to recognize 38kHz, 940nm wavelength modulated signals. This also includes a yellow LED that flashes when data is received. No soldering is required, but a 2mm pitch, 4-pin STEMMA JST PH cable is required. For soldering, 2.54mm pitch pin headers for power, ground, and signal are required. Cable not included.
