This is a breakout board for the Vishay VEML7700 illuminance sensor, which outputs lux (SI units). The VEML7700 is a right-angle light/lux sensor that detects light coming parallel to the board. This light sensor calculates and outputs lux, the SI unit of illuminance, making the unit clear and ensuring consistent readings across multiple sensors. It features a SparkFun Qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT JST SH connector, eliminating the need for soldering. It detects light from 0 to 120 klx with a resolution of 0.0036 lx/ct. Support circuitry and connectors are included for easy use. It is compatible with Stemma QT, allowing for solderless connection to a microcontroller. Libraries for Arduino (C/C++) and CircuitPython (Python 3) are available.
*Both black and tan connectors are included, but both have the same functionality.
