HFBR-0508Z Series Fiber Optic Transmitter/Receiver. The Avago Technologies HFBR-x5xxZ family is part of the General Purpose Link series. This family consists of the HFBR-1528Z fiber optic transmitter and HFBR-2528Z fiber optic receiver. The HFBR-1528Z transmitter features a plastic housing with an LED designed to efficiently couple power into 200 μm diameter hard clad silica (HCS) and 1 mm diameter plastic optical fiber (POF). The HFBR-2528Z receiver uses a PIN detector and digital output IC compatible with CMOS and TTL logic families. The HFBR-x5x8Z series links operate from DC to 10 MBd at distances up to 50 m (1 mm POF) and 500 m (200 μm HCS). No minimum link distance is required when using the recommended circuitry. The components in the General-Purpose Link series can be interlocked (N-plex), allowing users to minimize space and achieve dual connections with duplex connectors. The HFBR-x5x8Z series is suitable for a variety of applications, including industrial control/factory automation, serial fieldbus, and high-voltage isolation.
