Filament lamps will perform to specification and ensure maximum life under the following conditions: a) Powered at rated voltage from a stable 50 Hz AC source; is recieving. b) Ambient temperature is 20°C -> 25°C. c) no mechanical vibration; Especially for low current filaments (80 mA). The certified life may be reduced by up to 50% if powered from a DC power supply at rated voltage. Deviations in the rated working voltage also play a role. A 5% higher voltage reduces lamp life by up to 50%. A 5% lower voltage gives a significantly longer lamp life. Power consumption varies up to ±10% from certified values at rated supply voltage. For this reason, special care should be taken when connecting multiple lamps in series. When used in series, it is recommended to derate the rated voltage by 10% to avoid shortening lamp life.
