It is a no-clutch type that does not have a switching lever, which is the most common type of lever type dial gauge.

Since a miniature bearing is used for the bearing of the fulcrum of the stylus, the influence of shaft backlash is small and the indication stability is excellent.
Since a 0-ring is incorporated to prevent water and oil from entering through the gap between the outer frame and the inner frame, it is excellent in waterproofness.
