The scale surface is stepped to prevent dirt from getting between the main scale and the slider.
The vernier scale surface has a gentle inclination (14°) making it easy to read.
The head end face of the main scale and slider is set as the 0 base point (measurement surface), making it possible to measure steps.
Standard calipers can perform four types of measurements: outside, inside, depth, and step.
The carbide tip type is ideal for measuring rough-machined products, castings, grinding wheels, etc.
