Description
This is the fourth installment in the "Traditional Lacquerware: Rei" lacquerware fountain pen series, which features lacquerware from all over Japan.
The Tsugaru region of Aomori, famous for its lacquerware production in Japan, is a cold region where lacquer is difficult to handle, and through long-standing training, a unique lacquering technique was developed, in which multiple coats of lacquer are applied.
The Fugamon lacquerware applied to this product is a work of art with the distinctive characteristics of lacquerware, born from Shimamori Hirokazu's creative and inventive application of Tsugaru Togidashi Variegated Lacquerware. By applying dozens of layers of lacquer, including undercoating, lacquer-plastering, overcoating, powder sprinkling, and hardened lacquering, various tastes emerge from the overlapping of each layer, and by grinding these layers down, an elegant appearance is created.
The paulownia wood box is made from high-quality, fine-grained Japanese paulownia, which is said to be the most suitable material for storing lacquerware. The strings used for the box are strong, stretch-resistant Sanada cords.
