The lens is compact thanks to the adoption of a straight system that does not use a prism. The lens alone weighs approximately 131g, and when combined with the EOS R7 it weighs approximately 743g (including battery and card), allowing for highly mobile shooting.

In addition to the short back focus unique to the EOS R system, the effective placement of two UD lenses enables high-quality 3D images. In addition, the lens configuration does not use prisms, reducing flare and ghosting. With an angle of view of approximately 60°, 4K recording achieves a higher pixel density than 8K images with an angle of view of approximately 180°.
[AF for easy focusing]
By adopting a gear-type STM, the left and right lenses are driven as a single unit, enabling AF with the same operation as with conventional lenses. It supports not only one-shot AF but also movie servo AF.
[Focus/control ring for improved operability]
Equipped with a focus/control ring. The left/right focus difference adjustment mode switch and focus/control ring can be used to adjust the left/right focus difference.
*The AF range is limited to the image circle of the left lens.
