The lens barrel is fixed in length and does not extend when zooming. This keeps the center of gravity of the entire camera from shifting, allowing for stable framing. The zoom ring and focus/control ring can also be flexibly customized to suit the creator's needs and creative goals. This allows for precise control, allowing you to focus on creating your work.

This is the first RF lens to feature a power zoom. It allows you to zoom in and out smoothly at a constant speed, easily recreating professional-quality video footage. When attached to the EOS R50 V, you can operate the zoom not only with the lens's zoom ring but also with the camera's zoom lever. It also supports a variety of zoom operations, including remote control and remote control via the app.
・14-30mm RF-S wide-angle zoom lens
It supports focal lengths of approximately 22.4mm to 48mm in 35mm format. As a kit lens for the EOS R50 V, which is primarily intended for video shooting, it has a wider focal length than previous kit lenses. Its wide angle of view and enhanced sense of perspective make it possible to create videos, covering a wide range of scenes with just one lens, from selfies and live streaming that take advantage of the wide angle of view to video production that incorporates changes in the angle of view caused by zooming.
[AF optimized for both video and still images]
Equipped with a lead screw-type STM, the lens achieves high-speed, high-precision AF by matching microprocessor-based actuator control with the camera's AF algorithm. It quietly and smoothly tracks the subject during video recording, and quickly and precisely focuses on the subject of interest during still image recording, providing optimal AF performance for both video and still images. It also supports close-up shooting with a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m and a maximum magnification of 0.38x (at 30mm). This makes it ideal for capturing small subjects such as tabletop photos, getting up close to the subject for detailed shots, and even product review videos where you need to bring the product up close to the camera.
[Image stabilization]
Coordinated control is also possible when combined with cameras equipped with video electronic IS. When attached to an EOS R-series camera equipped with in-body IS, the three ISs are coordinated to provide even more powerful image stabilization effects. The optical IS also achieves 5.0 stops of image stabilization effectiveness according to the CIPA 2024 standard. When attached to an EOS R-series camera equipped with in-body IS, the lens coordinates with the optical IS to provide even greater IS effectiveness, with 7.5 stops in the center and 5.5 stops on the periphery, supporting even low-light and indoor handheld shooting.
