This dilemma is now solved with the new Eppendorf 25mL Conical Tubes. The new 25mL tubes have the same diameter as 50mL conical tubes but are shorter in length. Therefore, the pipette's penetration depth is significantly less than with 50mL conical tubes. The 25mL tubes are available with screw caps and innovative snap caps. Light-blocking tubes for convenient storage of light-sensitive samples: Eppendorf's brown conical tubes offer a light-blocking effect, blocking light below approximately 550nm, while still allowing visual confirmation of the liquid level inside the tube. The pipette tip's position within the tube is easily visible, reducing the risk of contamination and enabling highly sensitive pipetting.
