ADVANTEC Potassium Iodide Starch Paper

Used to detect oxidizing agents such as chlorine, bromine, ozone, and nitrous acid in sulfuric acid. It changes from white to blue in the presence of oxidizing agents. Hypochlorite [ClO-2mg/L (ppm) or more], nitrite [NO2-3mg/L (ppm) or more] color develops. Potassium iodide is oxidized by an oxidizing agent to become iodine, and iodine reacts with starch to give a blue color. It's a very sensitive reaction.
It is used for inspection of residual chlorine concentration. It is used for management of foot wash areas such as pools, concentration control in paper and textile factories, and inspection of other sterilizing and disinfecting solutions.
