RS PRO 5.5 kW DOL Starter, 230 V AC, 3 Phase, IP65
This handy 5.5 kW automatic 3-phase starter can be used to reduce the current required when starting up induction motors. These types of starters are best-suited for use with induction motors rated below 5 hp.
Motor starters work best with overload protection devices to prevent short circuits or overheating. This particular model doesn't come with one, but you can one from the RF38 series to match the full-load current of your motor – for example, stock no. 685-130.
This DOL starter is part of our trusted RS PRO range and has a moulded plastic case that offers IP65 ingress protection. The case is an effective shield against dust and high-pressure water jets from any direction. This starter is used in a variety of motor-driven applications from large fans and water pumps to workshop machinery.
