During normal operation, it is closed due to steam pressure, but when the steam supply is stopped, the condensate inside the steam trap is automatically discharged. Since the condensate inside the trap body can be completely discharged, freezing does not occur. When the steam supply is resumed and the pressure inside the body reaches 0.035 MPa, the drain valve closes and normal operation is resumed.
