Description
Sealing fittings join pieces of RMC and IMC conduit together and can be used in vertical or horizontal orientations. They have a 25% fill and conductors should not exceed this amount of space within the fittings so they can be sealed properly. These fittings hold a seal around wire within the conduit to minimize the passage of gases and vapors, prevent the passage of flames from one electrical installation to another, restrict explosions to the sealed-off enclosure, and prevent pressure from piling up in the conduit system. They’re suitable for use in hazardous locations where flammable gases, vapors, powdered metals, or dust is present.
