These enclosures are engineered to help protect electrical panels from various hazards. Select models based on NEMA rating for your specific application. NEMA 1 models protect against incidental contact and falling dirt. NEMA 3 models protect against ingress of water from rain, snow, and sleet, as well as ingress of solids such as dust, lint, fibers, and flyings. NEMA 3R models add corrosion resistance. NEMA 4 models protect against dirt, rain, sleet, snow, windblown dust, splashing water, and the external formation of ice in indoor and outdoor settings. NEMA 4X rated models add corrosion resistance. NEMA 12 rated models protect against dirt, dust, lint, fibers and flyings, as well as dripping and light splashing of liquids. NEMA 13 rated models provide the same protection as NEMA 12 models, while also protecting against the spraying and splashing, and seepage of water, oil, and noncorrosive coolants.
