Adjustable-tension tools for nylon cable ties have a mechanism to select how tightly they pull the ties around a bundle. They change tension to suit the materials being bundled or to compensate for thinner or thicker ties. These tools are commonly used by assembly-line workers, low-voltage electricians, and others who frequently apply cable ties. They fasten and trim nylon cable ties, which are more flexible but lighter duty than metal ties. Also known as cable tie guns, they pull the tie tail until it locks into the tie head. They trim the excess tail closely to the head, reducing the risk of cuts or gouges when handling the bundle.
