GENERAL TOOLS Dial Caliper

These calipers are constructed from rigid plastic or fiberglass-reinforced plastic. They are lightweight, non-conductive, non-magnetic, and resistant to corrosion. Their graduated dial displays measurements in millimeters, decimal inches, or fractional inches. Dial calipers use adjustable jaws that slide along a beam to measure between two opposite sides of a tool or part. They are easier to read than vernier calipers and are commonly used in light production, laboratories, and woodworking shops. Main and upper jaws can be used for outside, inside, and step measurements. Models with a depth rod can be used for depth measurements.
