Thomson Linear Motion Shaft

Solid linear shafts have no additional machined features. They come in pre-cut inch or metric sizes that are either hardened or non-hardened. Hardened shafts have strengthened outer layers and close tolerances for surface finish, roundness, hardness, and straightness; they are suitable for moderate to heavy loads that use ball bearings. Non-hardened shafts have less precise tolerances and are ideal for lighter load applications that use plain linear bearings; they are more accessible to machining.
