These kits include solid steel decking, which provides a smooth, solid surface that items cannot fall through. Steel decking is more resistant to damage than particleboard decking and will not splinter. The kits also come with beams that attach to the posts on compatible shelving units to create shelf levels, and the decking installs over the beams to distribute the weight of items placed on the decking across the beams.
