The SDS-Plus shank on these concrete screw-installation bits prevents them from slipping in high-torque drilling applications when creating holes for setting compatible self-tapping concrete and masonry anchor screws. They are also known as screw-anchor bits or concrete screw drill bits, and they come with a drill sleeve that slides over the bits to stabilize them during drilling. These bits install into compatible rotary drills or rotary hammer drills with SDS-Plus chucks, and they can be changed in the chucks with one hand. SDS-Plus chucks have spring-loaded balls that fit into the grooves on the bits' shanks to hold the bits in place in the chucks.
