Long-distance data transmission using the RS-422A interface is possible. The communication standard can be converted from RS-232C to RS-422A, or from RS-422A to RS-232C, enabling long-distance data transmission of up to 500m.
No power supply is required. Supplying + 5V (150mA or less) from the RS-232C device to the 6th pin of the RS-232C connector eliminates the need for an external power supply unit to drive the conversion unit.
Duct wiring is possible. Since the RS-422A interface is a detachable terminal block, it can also be used for piping that was difficult to wire with conventional D-SUB connectors such as ducts (the RS-232C interface is a 9-pin D-SUB connector).
