Multiguard VCI Anticorrosion Film

- Product Characteristics.
MULTIguard is a kraft paper combined with the basic VCI quality of BRANOpac. By constantly emitting a small amount of active anticorrosion substances (VCI principle: Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor), MULTIguard papers help to protect metal parts during transport and storage. Active VCI agents effuse and build up a protecting atmosphere, which protects reliably against rust, even after having opened the package for a short time - the protecting atmosphere can be rebuild immediately. MULTIguard works both in contact and from a distance.
MULTIguard can be used as a simple single wrap, interlayer or lining material.
For basic applications in production, storage and shipping.
- Development of the Protective Atmosphere.
The distance between MULTIguard paper and metal depends on the package volume and the time permitted for a protecting atmosphere to build up. A rule of thumb: for steel, a full protection is achieved at a distance of 30 cm after 15 minutes, for copper and alloy, at 12 cm and after 24 hours. Cast iron is only protected on contact.
The air tighter the package, the longer the protection will last.

Range of Protection.
According to your application, basic VCI papers are available in different performances (RUM formula).
R Ferrogard protects steel, cast iron and iron reliably. Be careful with zinc, nickel, cadmium, lead, soldering tin, magnesium, wolfram, molybdenum, copper and its alloys.
U MULTIguard protects steel, cast iron (only on contact), zinc, copper, chrome, bronze, brass, pure aluminium, pure tin reliably against corrosion. Be careful with Cadmium, lead, soldering tin, magnesium, wolfram and molybdenum.
M Ferrogard M, same as Ferrogard, but without nitrite.
