This results in the plastic maintaining its desired shape in the long term without sagging or cracking. Cast acrylic is of a higher quality than extruded acrylic with a harder surface as well as a better optical clarity. Cast acrylic also has greater thermal stability so it can be machined without melting and a higher resistance to solvents. This plastic sheet is thermo-formable which means it can be reworked hot. The only downside is that it has a less consistent sheet thickness than the extruded version
