Generally it is difficult to supply an accurate grease quantity per stroke when manually lubricating bearings. The right amount of grease, however, is critical for the bearings' service life, as over- or under-lubrication can result in bearing damage and machine breakdown. Even when weighing the grease amount per stroke, real conditions such as backpressure, wear inside the grease gun and others can result in varying lubrication amounts.
