This is the standard timer IC "555".
It has a simple internal configuration consisting of a comparator, a threshold setting resistor, a flip-flop, and a timing capacitor discharge circuit, but by adding an external C and R time constant circuit and selecting the connections of the other terminals, you can create a variety of application circuits such as timer circuits (delay ON/OFF circuits) and oscillators.
Although it cedes accuracy to a microcontroller, the 555 works without the need for programming; just by assembling the circuit.
The power supply voltage is also available in a wide range. This product is a second-source product manufactured by TI.
