Description
RS PRO Fibre Optic Sensor, NPN Output RS PRO has introduced a superior fibre optic sensor with NPN output.
Fiber optic sensors are a type of proximity sensor that have an optical fiber connected to a light source, allowing for detection in tight spaces or where compactness is required.
Optical fibers are transparent fibers made of glass (silica) or plastic, with a diameter slightly thicker than a hair, that transmit light between their ends and generate electrical signals.
Features and Benefits High-performance output time delay (optional) of 0 ms, 10 ms, or 40 ms is available to suit your needs Fast response time and three optional modes: < 200 us (Fine mode), < 300 us (Turbo mode), < 550 us (Super) Operating temperature: -10 to 50 °C (non-freezing) Meets various needs Vibration resistance: 10 to 55 Hz, 0.5 mm double amplitude (2 hours each in X, Y, and Z directions) Shock resistance: 500 m/s2 (3 times each in X, Y, and Z directions) Relative humidity in air: 35 to 85% (non-condensing) Operating supply voltage: 12 to 24 V dc Includes circuit protection technologies such as surge protection, reverse polarity protection, and overload protection to keep users and tools safe The NPN output offers the advantage of fast switching Suitable for applications in amplifier circuits Compatible probes: (896-7298) and (896-7285) Applications Fiber optic sensors are used in a variety of sensing applications.
In mechanical property testing, fiber optic sensors are used to measure mechanical strain.
It can also be used to measure acceleration, velocity, pressure, temperature, and displacement.
Used in a variety of workplaces such as Oil industry Gas industry Textile Ships and offshore structures Aerospace How do fiber optic sensors work A fiber optic sensor system is a technology that consists of a fiber optic cable connected to a remote sensor or amplifier.
Sensors emit and receive light energy and convert it into an electrical signal.
The optical cable is a mechanical component that transmits light through very narrow or harmful areas and back to the sensor.
