Crimping Tool Type: Ratchet Overall Length: 225mm RS Pro Ratchet Crimping Tool for Flag Crimp Terminals. RS PRO Ratchet Crimping Tool Overview. This RS PRO hand crimping tool is durable, reliable, and easy to use. It is made from a high-quality hardened steel alloy and is designed for crimping flag terminals. The hand tool consists of two ergonomic, non-slip handles for comfortable use, a ratchet mechanism, and a die assembly. Ratchet Mechanism. The ratchet is preset to a certain pressure and remains locked until the handles are fully closed and the dies bottom out. The handles cannot be opened until the crimping cycle is complete, preventing partial crimps. Once the crimping cycle is complete, the handles reopen. The ratchet ensures consistent, high-quality crimps, repeatable. This hand crimping tool features a ratcheting release trigger. In the event of a jam or mis-crimp, pressing the trigger will release the tool handles. Adjustable Crimp Force. This manual crimping tool features a cam for adjusting the crimp force. The cam lock bolt and washer can be removed using a hex wrench. Simply rotate the cam to loosen or tighten the tool. Once the desired setting is achieved, lock the cam washer and bolt back into place. Features and Benefits: Durability and Ease of Use. Robust, hardened steel alloy design. When using a crimping tool on terminals, two crimps are made simultaneously: the electrical connection between the conductor and the terminal. The insulation crimp provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important to ensure an airtight electrical connection, with no air gaps between the wire strands and the terminal. Air gaps can cause corrosion, resulting in resistance and overheating, which can damage the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool ensures a completely airtight crimp and prevents future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation. Typical Applications Crimping tools can be used in a variety of applications, including: Maintenance and Repair Electrical Installation Cable Assemblies Frequently Asked Questions What terminals can I use with this crimping tool? This manual crimping tool is designed for crimping flag-type crimp terminals, compatible with wire sizes 0.75-1 mm2. How to Maintain the Product To maintain good functionality and maintain a long life, the shafts and other moving parts must be lubricated regularly.
