SpecificationThermocouple Type: T Probe Length: 10m Maximum Sensing Temperature: +250°C Terminal Type: Miniature Plug Cable Length: 10m Standard Compliant: ANSI RS Pro ANSI Type K and T, Fine Wire, Exposed Junction Thermocouple. RS Pro Type The K and Type T fine wire temperature sensing thermocouple series meets ANSI MC96.1 standards with Class 1 tolerances for optimum accuracy. This type K and type T wire temperature sensor consists of heavy duty Teflon PFA insulated twisted wire pair leads and fast response time single element exposed weld contacts. How Thermocouples Work. Thermocouples are sensors used to measure temperature in a wide variety of processes. Two wire legs made of dissimilar metals are brought together at two points to form two points of contact. A hot junction (hot junction) is connected to the body whose temperature is to be measured. The cold junction (reference junction) is connected to a body of known temperature. Placing a measuring junction on a heat source creates a voltage or potential difference between this junction and the reference junction. This voltage is converted to a temperature measurement using a thermocouple lookup table. This process is also known as the Seebeck effect. What is a weld tip exposed junction? A weld exposed junction is where the wires of a thermocouple are welded together and are not covered by an outer jacket. Both ends of this wire are inserted directly into the process. This means that the thermocouple has high sensitivity and a short response time. Weld tip exposed contacts are susceptible to corrosion, so it is recommended to measure the temperature of non-corrosive flowing or stationary gas. Features and Benefits ANSI MC96.1 Class 1 tolerance for optimum accuracy Class 1 cable specification per BS EN60584-3:2008 Exposed welded contacts for fast response time Heavy duty Teflon PFA insulation protects against oils, acids and liquids Excellent mechanical strength/flexibility Operating temperature range: -75 to +250 °C Applications This K/T type fine wire thermocouple is ideal for instrumentation, temperature mapping, OEM, etc. is ideal for test/development use.
