This coil packing is made by processing a blend of aramid fiber and synthetic inorganic fiber with PTFE dispersion, braiding it into a square cross section, and then adding PTFE dispersion and lubricant to make it flexible. It has excellent flexibility and conforms well to the shaft. Its white color makes it suitable for fluid applications where black is undesirable. It can be used as a shaft seal for pumps with water-based, oil-based, weak acidic, and weak alkaline fluids. It can also be used as a shaft seal for rotating equipment such as mixers and agitators that are sensitive to contamination.
